Well, I have sad news, and I have happy news. I'll start with the sad news first, just to get it over with.

The sad news is that my uncle died recently. Actually he was more of a 3rd cousin than an uncle, same difference. I going to his memorial service tomorrow, as well as meeting the rest of my family (and some i haven't met yet). I'm just glad he lived to a ripe, old age. He lived a good life.

Enough sadness! The happy news is that my dad went down to Kentucky (around the same time my uncle died) to reenact the Battle of Blue Licks, which was during the Revolutionary War. anyway, he was invited because he had found this very rare gold button that belonged to William Caldwell (he also got to play him too ), and donated it to the museum. while he was there, the governor of Kentucky made him an Honorary Colonel! so now my dad is a Colonel, at least in the state of Kentucky. i'm so happy for him! this really brightened his day with all the family problems going on.

So, CONGRATULATIONS DAD!!!!!
